How to Clean Sheet Pans

My daughter-in-law sent food down in a sheet pan; it was almost identical to the one in this video. I also tried it on a copper bottom stainless steel pan (of which I have several that are over 50 years old). I didn't think to take before pictures but I posted the results below of my first two pans! I am going through all my old pans to give them a good cleaning. DIY Phone Pouch No Sew - Old Jeans into Pouch

Now that I have my very first smart phone I need to make myself a phone pouch . . .

I finally finished it!

I think I actually crocheted this newsboy hat at least six times before I got it right.

I can't wait to start quilting again. OMG her videos are amazing, funny, and touch on many things beside quilting. I have tried a few quilt blocks in the past. I took a quilt class at JoAnn Fabrics in 2003; a male customer in the store picked out my colors. My second was Pat Sloan's "Where Are Your Shoes and Socks 2006 BOM. The third was a Mary Englebreit quilt swap in March 2006. The second and third sets of quilt blocks are still not assembled into a quilt.

More Beanies . . .

The green yarn has a fuzzy texture to it and I found it hard to work with (made lots of mistakes). I wanted to learn how to do stripes which requires lots of changing colors (second beanie). Margaret Olander has updated her video whereas you don't have to cut the yarn when switching colors. You can find it here:

What to do with my leftover fleece . . .

Why not make a hat? I found the tutorial for this hat on YouTube.

It was fun and didn't take long to make . The hardest part was in figuring out how to download the pattern .

Baby Afghan Pattern and Notes

I can't find any copyright information on this pattern (I purchased it about 45 years ago). I forgot everything I knew about crocheting since doing this pattern in 2003. I am making this for a second time and made notes to myself along the way. More to come...I have yet to do the borders!

OK, today I made my first baby beanie AND I finally learned how to use the automatic needle threader on my CS 6000i sewing machine--which I LOVE...

For the hat I found a great video on YouTube "click here for link". I didn't quite get how to do the crown so I searched Googleland for clearer instructions.

Winter Sowing Tutorial

I had so much fun making these paper cups for my first winter sowing endeavor. But--lost lots of sprouts because the dirt tends to dry out quickly in the spring--before I have a chance to prepare my soil. I prefer the baggie method but still do some using the paper pots.

I picked the foam bottoms up from a Top's supermarket. The lid to a cardboard box works well if you can’t find the grape containers. I drilled three small holes down the center of the bottom of each container, laid a couple of sheets of newspaper on the bottom (to keep the dirt from falling out) and added about an inch of dirt on top of the newspaper. Fill each baggie with 3 -5 inches of dirt and water all the bags and let drain good in the kitchen sink. When dirt is still a bit moist, I add my seeds--pressing them down a tad. Insert a label in each baggie as you go and place in container. I made a list with the number and name of seed each baggie contains, to coincide with each label. A few seeds missed the baggie and grew in the dirt surrounding the pots. Close baggies, leaving small opening (about an inch) and put outside in container(s) anytime after December 15th. In the spring hold the the baggies open with a clothes pin so the plants don’t get over-heated. Make sense?
