My Baby Bootie Disaster

It has been fourteen years since my one and only crochet project, a baby afghan (picture under category Needlework, My Stuff). OMG, I don't remember one tiny tiny bit of what I did, not even the size needle I used. I finally found the original pattern for the afghan and I actually used two needles. One was still attached to a square I had been practicing on.

I have been through over a half skein of yarn trying to crochet this bootie. I can not figure out where to insert my hook into the beginning stitch of each row and have probably one hundred or more booties like the one below---aaagh! Because I never start each row in the same place', I wind up adding or deleting all kinds of stitches. I am actually starting to carry my project with me where ever I go, looking for someone who does crocheting.

The following video couldn't be more clearer, but I am still not getting it!

I can't wait for summer, I need all the leaves I can find!

My second attempt at a bird...

I did not know you could embroider leaves!

In poking around Google+ I came across this awesome lady "click here for link". I love her works! Did you know you can embroider leaves? We have had snow, here in Rochester, NY, but I did manage to find leaves while on visits to doctor's, dining out and shopping for groceries. My first attempt at embroidering leaves--it turned out to be a cross between a bird and a fish; I will call it my Flying Fish!

My First and Only Baby Afghan

I purchased this pattern in 1973; finally started and finished it thirty years later (2003) . I have decided I want to crochet again and don't remember a thing on how to crochet.

Seems like just yesterday

My mom, me and four of my sisters and first born son in the buggy--along with a couple of neighborhood kids. A couple of times every year we would go to the the park, have peanut butter, tuna fish, and baloney sandwiches and cool aid. Our family wound up being nine girls and two brothers. Almost always, my dad and an extra two or three kids from the neighborhood were part of the march.

Photo Manipulation | Water Splash in Bulb

You can find this tutorial on YouTube "click here for link". The tutorial took me about one half hour. Using my mouse to manipulate the paint brush--a different story. Aaaagh! Am I the only one who can not manipulate a desktop mouse? Run your mouse over the light bulb to see the AFTER effect.

How to create a body of water below a skyline or landscape and then reflect it in the water

I love playing around with Photoshop; my favorite site is Blue Lightning TV with Marty Geller. You can now live stream Marty's tutorials online "click here for link".

I decided to try using my own image for this tutorial. It is a picture I took behind our house of the sun setting in the West--I was just curious how it would work, having a sunset reflecting on a body of water. Click on the image to see the result. Oh yeah, also wanted to see how to place a post from my blog in Facebook.

Wanted to do something with this old school desk

I painted the writing surface with chalkboard paint. I wound up giving it away. In order to keep it from tipping, when sitting in it, you would have had to bolt it to the floor (something I didn't want to do).

I Will Have to learn how to crochet all over again

My first and only afghan--now I want to do another one!

Another Photoshop Tutorial

If I can follow along with Marty Geller, Blue Lightning TV, anyone can. My first attempt at creating the look of Soft Graphite Portrait from a photo, below  (run your cursor over the image to see the results). The photo of our great granddaughter is a bit light so I will have to research on how to change the resolution (or whatever).

Creating a Rollover Effect on Blog Photos

I have been poking around on how to create a rollover effect (that doesn't require you're having to post your images into a third party hosting site). I found the answer over at Designer Blogs Studio..."click" here.

What To Do???

I am always wanting something to do while sitting in the doctor's office. What works for me is embroidering pages for a quiet book Click here! --just need to bring along a piece of fabric, needle, thread, and my binocular glasses. After having cataract surgery I have 20/20 vision but needed glasses size 6+ (which I could only find online) for doing counted cross stitching.

DIY Card Holders

I made of few of these way back in June 2008. My next project is making a few more (enlarging the pattern a bit and doing some hand embroidery to customize).

Another Attempt at Animating

This was done in Adobe Photoshop (Click here for tutorial) .

I NEED a tablet!

I am wanting to create my own animations and started to teach myself via the Internet back in 2015. Hey, I can't draw a circle using my mouse. I need a tablet that I can draw circles on using my finger.

OMG, it has been so long since I last posted!!!

First thing I have to do is learn to post all over again; hoping I don't have to customize my fonts and all that good stuff !!

I started my 151 Pokeman's counted cross stitch project back in April 2016. I have an old footstool that was made by my husband's grandmother.  It is well over one hundred years old so I thought it would be cool to cover with something from a much later era.  About one month ago I realized I calculated the size of the material INCORRECTLY. I am only half way through cross-stitching the pattern and I am on page 16 of 30 pages. That is what I need to cover my footstool and then I will not have enough fabric to finish the other 14 pages. If I purchase the same amount of material I can start with page 15 and continue on to page 30 and cover my circular piano stool with the second half of the 151 Pokeman's and then some. I will be posting pictures soon!
